Martin Parr's best known photographs were taken at summertime at the beach. I live here quite on the opposite side: no ocean and very ugly grey winter without snow. But by looking at his work a found a series of indoor photos of middle class homes with an ironic view. Well, I might do something like that.
One night before rollover we had a saxophone rehearsal in a small house which isn't used since the elderly couple that once lived there moved into a retirement home. Only once in while a member of the family celebrates a party there - hence the decoration of last year's New Years Eve..
For me this scene had that Martin Parr "vibe"-and I hope voters will feel it too.
