A candid capture representing a very typical scene in the Texas BBQ culture on a Saturday afternoon. While I'm quite far from understanding Parr's documentary approach well enough to imagine emulating it faithfully, I'd like to think that this quasi-humorous juxtaposition of garish colors, ethnic expression, and social exposition would have caught his eye. I think it would be much stronger if there was something farcical or humorously unexpected in the frame--like if the woman at the register was wearing reindeer antlers. Also, this is not the sort of edit I would expect to do well here on DPC normally. But for this challenge, it somehow feels right.
