This hidden face "jumped on me" while I was washing my hands. I wonder just how many other people got this idea, too (after all, everybody washes their hands once in a while:)), and enter a similar photo. I think it is pretty cool, especially looking directly down. The "ears" are in fact shadows of my tripod, I was not planning that effect on purpose, but saw it while playing with lighting. I think ears are pretty cool, too. I hope it does well.

Post-processing: 1 deg. rotation, crop,
clonning out some minor distractions, selective color tweaking in the sink area, brigtness/contrast, NeatImage, save for web.

Thanks to my daughter Masha - an aspiring lighting designer - who helped me with lighting here.

Happy holidays, everybody!

Hi Lev,

Greetings from the Critique Club...

Nice finish in the contest. Great eye in spotting the common "face".

What's working: your central composition is direct helping me see the face. The pink sink makes the shot adding just the right amount of color. Cropped well. I don't mind the tripod shadows but don't think it helps -- a bit too flat for the "ears" message - more looks like framing for the face.

Some suggestions: The soft focus doesn't work as well. The whole shot needs to be crisp. Having the central composition without it being 100% level detracts from the symetry you've created. As mentioned by a few others the lighting is uneven and harsh in areas and doesn't add to the image.

I hope my comments are clear and helpful. Please pm me with any questions or comments.

Regards,
Theresa

That's funny - here's an example of something we see every day, but do we really see it?

Neat how the shadow makes the bowl look like two lips.

Good idea, poor execution. Distracting reflexions and poor lightning. The white area far overexposed Sorry 4

A little soft, but it works well with the colors. I might have tried cloning out the shadows on the both edges.
