I kept thinking of this challenge as inorganic macro instead of inanimate. So I thought I couldn't enter this. I had other shots, but I just didn't like them. But then I realize that hair is not alive. It used to be on a living thing, but not anymore -- So I entered it. It was at 4.7 something after 8 votes. I should have done the other ones!

Anyway, this is my dogs hair on a dog brush. I thought the hair was particularly interesting.

For the other shots, I tried doing photo stacking on different objects. But they were all really boring. I like the idea, but I need to come up with better subjects.
