A pair of pumpjacks I happened to glimpse in near-perfect twin poise along one of the rural highways in the Brazos Valley--an area rich with crude oil reserves. These were pumping at slightly different speeds, so I had to pull off on the shoulder of the highway and shoot this looking backward out my car window into oncoming traffic, waiting for just the right moment when they aligned like this. I probably would have scrapped the source capture if it weren't for this challenge; my camera doesn't do great at this focal length in low light. But with a bit of processing, I rather liked the result and decided to lean into the graininess. It feels suitably industrial.
