 O wow - thank you for liking this picture!

Looking southwest from the Wallberg (Bavarian Alps) spectacular views open up: especially of the Wetterstein Mountains with the Zugspitze and the Wilder Kaiser in the distance. A wonderful Alpine panorama!

Here is a bit of a backstory if anyone likes to read it:

Last year, my children gave me an overnight trip in the mountains for my birthday. It took a long time to find a date when the whole family was available and the weather was perfect. Well, not quite perfect, it was very hazy – which is why I was able to take this photo.

There was a violent thunderstorm that night – that alone is a wonderful experience in the mountains (when you're comfortably tucked in bed in the mountain cabin).

And the icing on the cake was this amazing rainbow the next morning!
