Redbud trees offer some of the first, most vibrant colors of spring in central Texas. I wanted to create an impressionist-inspired image to capture something of that early spring magic.
Shot this using a full manual zoom lens for selective focus, then used a combination of textural overlays and noise filters to create a stylized "painterly" version of the photo, which I then layered over the color-enhanced original to try blurring the line between reality and artistic impression. The result, I hope, resembles something of a watercolor painting.
