In simple terms of the image that I found most replicable, and that had the greatest impact on me, JJ's skylight shot from the Mirrors challenge was an automatic choice. It also has the flexibility, as a subject, to be transported - so i've taken it to one of my own locations: Dedham Vale, scene of a number of my shots for challenges this year.
Things I wonder about this as a challenge entry: how many people will remember JJ's shot? Do my mirrors make enough impact? Are people going to tell me that my horizon is too central? (actually, for those that do, there are compositional parallels of shape and orientation between the river and the sky, and between the trees and the mirrors that render such comments... well, plain wrong, I fear).
What I really like, is that I've taken one idea, and incorporated it into another shot, and extended things that way: one might almost think that there's room for someone to take this shot, and in turn extend it into yet another. |

| Very nice tribute to an excellent winner. With the inclusion of other elements in the scene, this makes for a better rendition of an idea, not just a duplicate of the original. My choice for blue ribbon. Marked as favorite. 10 |

| Interesting take on jj's shot. I would've loved to recreate his skylight shot or any of his shots for that matter, had I the skills for it. I like your twist on his idea. Very nice colors at work in this scene and a lovely composition. |
