Thanks for the comments everyone, and the top 20 finish. This is a shot I've been waiting to do for quite a while - and then finally the "Wind" challenge blew (pun intended) into town! To answer a few of the questions that had been posted --
1) This is my dog Chazz, a buff male Cocker Spaniel ... age approximately 6 years old (he is adopted and exact birth records are unknown).
2) No, I wasn't driving. Much thanks to my girlfriend for driving so that I could hang my body out the window to get this shot.
3) The sky. Yes, this was my biggest disappointment in this shot. It had been raining for days prior to this shot, and I finally got one say with mostly cloudy skies but no rain. I was hoping to get a good expression *and* a touch of blue sky in the background - but it just wasn't meant to be. Of course, after the challenge window ended, nothing but blue skies.....
Again, thanks for all the votes and comments!

sticking a camera out of a wind always seemed too risky for me.
extra points on the risk factor. i like the shot itself too

I had that exact idea, but did not shoot it since I don't let my German Shepherd in my car. Nice shot, and spaniel. 7 |

I keep coming back to this picture. I really like it because it conveys a specific motion. I wish the sky wasn't so washed out though. |

this is just dangerous and irresponsible. You should be shot. :-) |

Well done, and cute pooch. I think a blue sky would have really enhanced it, but I guess most of us have that challenge this time of year. |

Great picture. Love that this is something you see almost every day but no one ever photographs it - and never from this angle. Excellent composition. Really well done. 10 |

...wonderfully captured in this warm photograph.
I like the poise and the serenity displayed by your faithful companion. Well done!
Revisiting. Sure the sky is overexposed (may have been overcast). But this is still my favorite of the bunch. 10 |

Great pup portrait, looks like (s)he was enjoying it, too! Wondering if you adjusted the sky to make the dog stand out. |

Nothing like the expression of a dog with wind blowing in the face -- a 9. |

I normally think dogs look dumb, but this one looks genuinely happy, and the expression has a profundity rare in the canine world! |
