 when i noticed these ants coming in and out of this hole in the trunk of the tree i immediately thought of this challenge ..

i actually went back on three or four separate days trying to get a shot that worked with the ants in a pleasing composition ..
they werent that 'agreeable' ..

wish i could have focus stacked but the ants were moving so fast that that wasnt an option in a standard edit ..

have no idea how this will go ..
hope the voters surprise me .. ;)

in fact i thought i was heading the the brown at one stage when i was on 5 for a while ..
anyway .. i like it .. i feel i did satisfy the challenge .. and the ants were an added bonus .. :)

onward and upward hopefully .. ;)

I saw ant hills up at the park and thought about doing those. I think this just didn't say "hole" to people. Perhaps if you had lightened the shadows a bit to see the ants that were entering the hole, it might have helped?
I forgot to vote on this. :(

I probably would have given it a 6, since it did seem to be more about the ants than the hole.

there's a nice sense of scale to this, as if these are nomads in a rocky terrain. I gave it a 10
