A tribute to e301's "You think that's air you're breathing?" blue ribbon shot from the "What is the Matrix" challenge.

This is one of the first shots I took with my new D70, printed then taped to the back of my husband's computer, which has blue lights inside it (looks really cool when it's on at night!) Then I tore the print to reveal the glowing grid pattern and took the shot.

In Photoshop, I created a brightness/contrast layer for just the print, and upped both brightness and contrast by 30 or 35. Cropped and resized the image, ran it through Neat Image, then unsharp mask at 99%, 0.8 pixel radius, 3 level threshold. Finally healed out a couple tiny dots (The D70 alerady has dust on the sensor!) and called it done. Hope you like!

Why?

Actually it's an 8x10.

Not sure how you mean- are you referring to the part behind the print, or the lower half of the print?

Whoa.

To quote a , er, film.

This has the look of a 5x7 or even 4x6 torn photo - mine was 11x8 and thus getting the line of the tear much easier (ah, the voice of expertise). You've certainly got the colour balance of the top image - that's an important element to me - but your lower is a bit confused. Very flattering to be imitated however.
