I really thought this might place higher! Very nice shot, Justine. I really like your props and set up. I love the contradictions in the reel issue. (sorry to laugh, but it just sounds sooo familiar!) |

A very specific image, but I'm sure someone would need it at some point for an article or something. Nice shot. I like the background. |

This would be such an awesome photo with a better background. The reel in the back is too centered and too busy, it really takes away from the fly. |

This is an excellent photo of the subject. The background looks more like a car rim instead of a fly-reel. I think maybe a fish mount or something would've been more conducive to the picture. |

Neat shot, great detail! Love your choice of backgrounds (I had to think about it a minute and you\'ll probably \"lose\" non-fly fishers, but I like it!) Could you have used a smaller piece of cork? 9 Swash Changed my mind, it's a 10! |

The inclusion of the reel in the backround adds some authenticity. Nice work. |

Is that a fly reel in the background? IMO it does not add anything to your picture, it is too blurred to be recognizable and too prominent to go un-noticed. IMO you might have used a simple black background or similar type. A technically perfect fly though. 8 |

Is that a fishing reel in the back? If so, it should be more "obvious" to make the pic better. |

I'd like to see a closer crop, but it's a nice shot. |

Very nice shot. I love the detail that can be seen on the fly. Very nice warm colors. This is what I think to be the best stock photography shot of the challenge. Excellent work! Good Luck! I hope this makes the top 3 if not 1st. |

I think your photo needs to be a tad sharper on the fly. Otherwise a good photo |

One of my favorite things to do in the summer. I don't make the flies though. I like how you have the reel in the background. Good luck! |

Great use of DOF, could imagine this on the wall of the local tackle shop. |

A very sharp photo and this would be very good in some magazines. I can't tell what the background is --- that's probably good --- but I like the way the yellow dots lead your eye into the subject of the photo. |

For this to a useful stock photograph, I believe the background should have been clear of all distractions. 5 Jak |

Nice close up of the fly. I think the reel detracts and would have preferred a solid background. |

Is that a fishing reel in the background? I don't know if I like it or it bugs me but the fly is wonderful. Perhaps rotating the cork so that it's parallel to the edge of the photo would make it better for me. Excellent macro! |

Good use of shallow depth of field to isolate your fly from the fishing reel... nice work :) - setzler |

My husband says this one is the best! =) For the non-fishing person like myself, the background is a bit distracting, but it's a gorgeous shot. |
