I agree. A closer shot would have been more dramatic. Otherwise, very nice. |

Seems more head/on than ground/up. |

looks like California... what school is this? Composition could improve by maybe moving the tower to the left a bit. |

not entirely certain I see how this is ground up -- but be that as it may... the picture doesn't feel quite level -- everything seems to be leaning to the left -- I'm also a little distracted by the people, and other buildings, and light post -- maybe a tighter crop on the tower, as well as emphasizing the height of the tower by making the shot vert? |

I think it would be better if you were closer and had the camera vertical, other wise its lost in the picture |

I understand that this could be interpreted as "from the ground up", too, but it does not fit with my interpretation of the challenge and that of many others. Also has a snapshot feel to it - the photo leans to the left. A portrait format would probably have worked better for hte tower. |

I would have like the shot better if you would have been right under the tower. Did you try that? |

Very pretty... the framing seems awkward to me though. I think ti could do with being a closer shot of the tower with less around it, and if it's going to be positioned away from the centre it should be further to one side, otherwise it kinda seems like an accident. |

I don't see it. Pleasing photo but I don't see the angle that makes me feel the challenge was met. |

this is more of a straight-ahead shot. i think it would have been better to be close to the tower, looking up |

This is a nice photo... i see your "ground up" subject but I wish this particular photo had a higher camera angle and was shooting towards a higher elevation. *My* interpretation of this challenge is not well displayed in this shot, but I don't expect everyone to see things like I do! Good job... |

This isn't from the ground. i don't htink. |

i know that you are going to get a lot of comments about it not being from the ground up, and i would also have to agree. |

Ack -- you're crooked. And the camera isn't giving us a 'ground up' perspective. |

picture is tilited, yes the ground is in the picture, but is this really what the contest is getting at? i don't think so |

|

maybe try turning the camera and shooting this vertically ? |
|

Doesn't feel very close to the ground? Also, might have emphasized the tower more to be closer and to frame vertically. |

Having people in this picture adds a certain interest, makes it more than your typical building photo. |

Nice sky. Maybe should have been taken closer to better reflect the subject of the challenge. |

I took pictures of the tower from several angles. I was underneath it and from all sides. The reason that I submitted this one is the road is going uphill and everything around it is going up. Thus from the ground up. I had close-ups of the tower and I could have blown this one up. The road is at an angle draining to the left. The tower naturally tilts to the right, so why would I want to straighten the tower? All towers don't go straight up and down. I think there is a famous one in Italy that does not. |
