 I'm kind of surprised this got the blue. I thought it would be in the top five though. I mean there was some pretty stiff competition this time around.

I wasn't sure also how an image which was clearly flipped upside down would fair. But I liked it, and that's all that mattered.

BTW same place in NZ as the portrait image of Clyde albeit a different day. When I shot the portrait it was during the day and no fog. This was taken on a different day. We had to pass through Cromwell once again on our way to Oamaru and I wanted to photograph the lake in Cromwell as it looked amazing the first time we drove by. Except it didn't look that great this morning, so I asked my husband to drive over to this historic precinct because I was pretty sure the lake would look amazing in the fog, and boy did it ever!

The guy on the jetty is my husband, I didn't have this challenge in mind when I took this image.

the tones are gorgeous .. and it's such an atmospheric image ..
