This bridge runs through the marshy area in Scanlon Creek, Ontario. As a child I loved running along this bridge as it floated over the water/muck. In spots you needed to make sure your feet didn’t get wet by jumping from segment to segment. A few years ago there was some sort of major spill into the water and a lot of fish died. Since then they have drained the pond and this bridge sits somewhat unused. The water diverts to a small creek, which is what remains of the pond. It has been interesting to watch the vegetation overtake the bottom of the pond. It is now full of young trees, vegetation and other plant growth. Neat.
Pic was snapped on a warming winter day while walking there with my dog Nova. She is not in frame, but is off to the right exploring.
