i'm 15, i've got a camera and a Daisy Pellet gun.....
what would u do....?

steps to making this shot.-
*lighting i took lots(3) desks lights, clip lights, etc. and set them up in front of black plastic storage tub.

Then
*praticed a couple times with plastic cups (to get the timing right) didn't work

Then
*got bored and decided to go for it, so on 2nd shot(continious burst),(fired the gun just before), i got the image u see...

*with the exception of doing some cloning in PS to get rid of some little pices of distracting glass,+small brightness and contrast adjust.

also shot at 1/1000s i can't go higher than that.

thanx for all the comments and votes

setup (my non studio, studio)
from the gunner's prospective
all it took...

This image has a lot of impact. The lighting in this subject is very nice, yet the focus is slightly off (I believe the back of the bulb is in focus). The composition is quite good, although I would have to suggest that something other than a black background would have been a little more interesting, as the bulb appears to be "floating", maybe showing the lamp it was in.
The colours in this image are nicely realistic, and the "freezing" of the shattering bulb is excellent.

IMO a brilliant photograph.

i know a faster shutter speed was required to freeze motion, but can't find a place that's in focus for me to look at. this is also one that perhaps a uniform black background isn't beneficial, since it now just looks like the glass is exploding instead of 'seeing' the interesting impact as it hits some kind of tangible surface

Congrats on capturing the stopped motion but the focus is the weak part of this shot. Good luck.
