This is Meteor Crater near Winslow, AZ. There was no possible way to get this entire thing in one shot so this is composed of nine different photos that I stitched together later.
The crater was formed when a meteor about 150 feet in diameter and 300,000 tons moving at 40,000 miles per hour struck the Earth 50,000. The crater about a mile in diameter and 570 feet deep. When it was first discovered by European explorers they found pieces of the meteorite scattered as much as five miles away. As much as 30 tons of debris was scattered.

It's quite a sight. It's about five miles off of I-40 an hour and a half west of Flagstaff, AZ. If you ever have the chance, definitely take a look.
