On this night, while sweetie and friend set up on a hill to do astro, I decided to play with some light painting.
When it was dark enough, I stopped petting the resident cat and wanting to experiment for my headlamp and long exposure, took my camera and tripod to a cool road which ran straight up the hill.
I removed the tripod from the case and set the case down on a rock near me, when I hear some rustling. Thinking the resident cat had followed me out there I turned around to look, and my headlamp illuminated two glowing dots staring back at me from inside a culvert, just a few feet from my case. Upon further inspection, the eyes were connected to long black fur with a white stripe....
We stared at each other in wide eyed panic for a few seconds, and I decided to attempt to retrieve my case from potential skunking. Moving with extreme caution, and averting my face in case the plan failed, I managed to drag the case to safety and the little guy bolted away into the dark. |
