you might have to change your skirting boards Lydia .. when this opened in voting i thought of you .. because of the skirting boards .. i may have seen the stool before as well .. ;)
gosh .. looking at the breakdown of votes .. another image with a very divided audience ..
i feel like apologizing as i only gave you a 5 .. but i know i've given you 8's, 9's and 10's on your other images .. so its not all bad .. xx
but the 5 was because it didnt really speak to me .. looking at it now on a different monitor where that left hand dark bit is more visible .. it would have been a 7 ... i couldnt see it when voting .. gives this an element of mystery .. and almost suspense with that empty chair ..
like did some crazy axe wielding psychopath drag whoever was taking photos out that window back into their shadowy cave .. ;)

| Normally i would say that I like the pent-up energy of of the off kilter presented room. and although I dig the composition, it may not serve your purpose of emptiness to have the stool in the room, and the feel like it is going to slide out of frame., but the mood and the lighting and the concept make it better than many if not most in the challenge, imho, 7. |

I love the idea. I love the processing. The only thing of which I'm not sure is the tilt. It threw me off at first, then I thought "yeah -- that works", and then I changed my mind and didn't like it again. But I think the whole reason is seeing that 1/5 of the left side of the photo. That draws my eyes, since it's in the shadows, but still can be seen. I expect something wonderful in there, but then it's empty (yes, I know, emptiness) and I feel dissatisfied. I think I would have absolutely adored it if the photo was cropped in from the left and that whole corner, indent was left out. Or, if there was more of that area--maybe about 1.5 times the size it is now -- so that you realized the whole place was empty - not just that one part with the stool.
Is this an Anita? It reminds me of her toning. 7 for now. Probably moving to an 8. But I think it would have been a 9 with either of those thoughts. |

| Love the shot, hate the tilt. It's too much to be a mistake, and not enough to be intentional. |
