 On the next to last day of my Great East Coast Pet Portrait Tour, I spent the afternoon with a friend walking around the Tidal Basin. The Jefferson Monument FINALLY was free of scaffolding (for the most part), and I was going to enter another image of just it.

But I kept coming back to this image which also contains the Washington Monument. And there was something about their silent conversation over still waters that spoke to me.

The weather was brutally hot and humid, and the walkway around the basin was mostly inaccessible. The night before we'd had a freak massive storm that took down trees and power, and flooded the basin walkway. But it did give me beautiful clouds for this shot.

Lovely shot. Love to see this at night, but there probably is not enough Mosquito repellant in the world...
