How did you do it? I agree with bobgaither, you definitely should have received a better score.

Really cool colors in this photo. Can't wait to see where it was taken.
05/05/2002 05:55:00 PM
Great shot! The timing, not only to catch the uhh...whatever that is, but the time of day as well makes the image look great.
05/05/2002 01:36:00 PM
Wow! Incredible!
05/05/2002 07:03:00 AM
Angelic sky
would have liked the image to be framed a little higher

Definately hits the category. Great shot to end a slide show with.
05/03/2002 09:35:00 PM
Wow! The black water down there is so ominous! But, formally speaking, the shot should be made from the ground up, not the subject. Well, it's still so good!
05/03/2002 03:56:00 AM
Very cool picture.
05/02/2002 11:43:00 AM
A neat twist on what might be considered by most of us.
05/02/2002 09:47:00 AM
Good composition and colors.
05/01/2002 11:37:00 PM
Gott íslenskt skot sýnist mér
05/01/2002 01:00:00 PM
Excellent
05/01/2002 11:35:00 AM
Refreshingly different shot of the kind of thing one usually sees as a bright daylight shot
05/01/2002 10:43:00 AM
Neat interpretation. I like the shot.
05/01/2002 07:00:00 AM
wow - got no idea what it is. Would prefer it centred and the foreground brighter
05/01/2002 06:35:00 AM
Very cool!

You getting creamed for insufficient lens elevation, too? It's a really nice catch. Wish I could see your settings.
04/30/2002 02:56:00 PM
I opened my mind and revoted your shot. It's a beautiful shot.
04/30/2002 02:23:00 PM
This picture would have been really spectacular with a fill flash
04/30/2002 12:47:00 PM
Nice shot. Rich colors, which is especially hard when it is this dark out. I especially like the way the clouds contrast the blue sky so nicely.
04/30/2002 12:05:00 PM
wow is that a geyser?
Thats a great pic
the sun set makes it even better
04/30/2002 05:18:00 AM
Geyser at dawn? What a great subject for "from the ground up"! Nice photo
04/30/2002 04:56:00 AM
Very nice. I like the fact the theme is captured without pointing the camera up. Bravo for thinking differently. Good composition, focus, and exposure too!
04/30/2002 12:47:00 AM
This is a beautiful shot... I can't say much for improvements other than having the geyser fully in the frame and not clipped at the top... excellent work!
04/29/2002 02:13:00 PM
I really like this photo. Great contrast and color. Well done!
04/29/2002 01:33:00 PM
i don't know how this is from the ground up, but i like geysers
04/29/2002 12:53:00 PM
Very cool! Good timing!
04/29/2002 11:57:00 AM
I hope that isn't digital editing, I scored it high, would have gave it a 10 if I knew for sure. great shot
04/29/2002 11:17:00 AM
Very nice shot, but could you have moved the sun over on the horizon?(I am just kidding ... read one too many weird comments today, I guess)
04/29/2002 10:57:00 AM
Cool.......Was this some sort of depth-charged ?
04/29/2002 10:17:00 AM
What the.....?
04/29/2002 10:13:00 AM
Nice sunset colors, good composition not centering the geyser (?)
04/29/2002 10:04:00 AM
Humm, what is that? Pretty sky.
04/29/2002 09:38:00 AM
wow. breathtaking photo.
04/29/2002 09:02:00 AM
awesome picture, great sunset as well
04/29/2002 08:16:00 AM
I don't get the whole "fitting the challenge category" idea. I mean, is the camera supposed to be on the ground, showing the ground, and looking up? And if it doesn't do that, it's not a good picture? I don't know. Nice coloring in this photo. I would have tried to zoom in a bit more on the smoke, and tried to get more of the texture defined. I did like it off center with the sun coming up on the right, though... just a slightly tighter cropping. Nice color transition, too, by the way. Sharp photo.
04/29/2002 07:01:00 AM
this reallly goes up! a bit dark
04/29/2002 06:54:00 AM
nice use of the rule of thirds.
04/29/2002 05:58:00 AM
A tad dark.
04/29/2002 04:42:00 AM
In the right place at the right time.
04/29/2002 04:38:00 AM
More interesting than the normal sunsets! Very Dramatic
04/29/2002 04:21:00 AM
Nice time of day to take this picture.
04/28/2002 08:40:00 PM
Great shot. Love the extreme contrast. Colors are very vibrant without looking overdone. I rated this very high.
05/06/2002 11:36:00 AM
You should have gotten a better score but of course I am no flower or dummy.
