I like the building chosen as the subject, but I think your foreground choice is too overwhelming. The foreground seems to be cluttering the shot rather than enhancing it to my eye. Good luck.

Composition: 6, Building and cactus on opposite sides of frame. This is distracting to me.
Technical: 6, Main subject is softer than foreground cactus. Use shorter depth of field.
Appeal: 5, Doesn't really keep my interest.
Challenge: 7, Weak due to composition.
Overall Calculated Average Score: 6

All the trees do nothing to accentuate the castle

Ooh but there's some weird artefactness going down here. It seems to be straight-out-of-camera aspect ratio, so I'm fairly confident in suggesting your post-rocessing is letting you down a fair bit.

Aside from which (and I expect most people will only have commented on the blocky sky), I think you have the beginnings of a good shot here - but only the beginning, I'm afraid: I like the idea of including some foreground interest, in that wall and cactus, but you seem to have had to stretch things to include them and thus relegated the interest in your main subject too much - that cactus is almost as strong a presence as the castle, and that surely isn't what you intended. But you have at least not presented a head on boring shot just of the castle, so points for that. Is it worth my suggesting you have a look round and see how other similar compsitions have been worked?

I like the contrast (not the right word) between the castle and the cactus.

The banding in the sky is a bit distracting. Not very sharp either, is it overcompressed, why use only 69K out of 150K?

NIce photo, there is a some artifacting in the sky. It would be nice to get a clearer shot without the bushes screeneing the building.

Interesting photo, but ruined by the massive compression artifacts. The file is only 70KB, that's less than half of DPC's limit. You should generally try to compress your images to just below the limit.

It seems like you used a low pixelation on this one. The photo lost quality. i can notice the pixels on the sky pretty well. The cactus is a little distracting as the branches of the trees are to. imo you should have gotten a better angle of the castle. but keep it up.

interesting castle like landmark but personally I would have preferred this be composed without the cactus in the lower right as it is kinda distracting me from your main subject. Cool shot but wished you could have jumped over the brush to get a closer view.

I would prefer just one object. My eyes are bouncing between the castle and the cactus.
