You score would have been slightly higher had I got as far as this in the voting Gordon. To my mind, a lnadmark without it's context is meaningless, more or less. This, however, is marvellous. |

Thanks to all for the comments.
I realise that I made a mistake by showing too much of the landmark location for most voters tastes..but to be honest, I felt that without it, the pic lost it`s impact.
Thamer..I try never to use the 640 pixels in the portrait mode as I hate having to scroll an image to see it all and thought that might be off putting for voters also...and at the end of the day, it didn`t really make a big difference to the image.
Skip...don`t worry about it,you voiced the same concern as most commenters, which I totally accept as valid criticism...and btw the same holds good should you receive a comment from me...I don`t have the best track record :)
Sweetlips..thanks for the kind words.

great finish there, gordon! just goes to show what i know about challenge entries (well, heck, my overall average says enough about that). just be advised, if you ever get a really great comment from me during a challenge, you'll know you have something to worry about ;-)

Lovely scene and composition! I wonder why you didn't take advantage of the 640 pixels? |

Very interesting, moody photo. In a way, I'd like to see the palace much much closer, but then you'd lose some of that atmosphere. hmmmm.... |

Nice sky. A little vignetting though, |

Beautiful pic, but the focus isn't really the castle. It's a nice picture of ducks on a lake. |

while this is an interesting image, i would not consider it a shot of a landmark except for it being entered in the landmark challenge. the subject is too distant and not showing enough detail to compete with the birds in the foreground. the image is fine, it's just the challenge aspect that will hurt your score (and don't get me wrong--i'm not saying it doesn't meet the challenge, i'm just saying it's not that strong of a challenge entry). |

Quite a wonderful sky and expanse of water. Adds a lot of interest but unfortuantely from this vantage, the castle is rather small and lacks much detail. |

Great angle and framing. Since the topic is landmarks though I want the landmark to be more than just a spec in the photo. A little more zing to the color would have been good too. |

I would have liked to see the palace a little closer in the shot, otherwise, well done |

Very nice. The landmark itself is perhaps a little too small as the main subject, but a great photo. |

Nice pattern in the sky. Very nice shot and nice color.
My only problem with this shot is that the building is very far and can barely see it. 7 |

I really like the effect of the sky, but i think the palace is very far, and the trees branches are a little distracting but i like the effect of it very nicely done. |
