Greetings from the Critique Club.
I look at this photo and see a lot of potential. It to me is already a very good photo. But what if you had been able to get in closer and framed only one of the smaller branches and needles. I think the photo may have been more dramatic and wouldn't lose a connection to rhythm. Do you have pine cones to go along with this tree or is it some other tree? Maybe a macro of the surface of the pine cone. There's a lot of rhythm there. I'm not saying you didn't meet the challenge I'm just giving you alternatives on what i think may have been available for you to photograph. I like the framing and the fact you went with a silhouette. That is a nice blue with the clouds giving it a pleasent touch. Again, you have a good photo here that may or not have been better if you had gotten in a little closer. I hope this helps some. I've been having great difficulty writting these lately. | Especially at low resolutions, this type of photo is easy to oversharpen -- I think you did a pretty good job of controlling that here. |

| I'm not really sure if this is an example of rhythm, but I'm not docking for it. Something about this shot seems missing or off to me, but I can't really put my finger on it. I think the crop is just too tight for my tastes. 5 |
