 when this challenge was announced i wanted to get tod to look like he was making a decision .. probably between a toy and a ball .. i've had surgery to have metal taken out of my elbow .. so i was out of action for a while ..

the day before this went in for voting i thought i'd see if i could make it happen ..

i put a sheet on the lounge .. got the ball and a brand new toy .. the duck .. and took a few pics .. no treats involved .. didnt think i'd got anything where he looked remotely like he was making a decision .. until he did this .. and he really was making a decision between the duck and the ball .. in the 10 or so minutes I was taking pics the duck won every single time ..

this is the fourth duck he’s had btw ... they have a squeak like a quack and the squeaker inside the body of the duck is covered with plastic .. so its extremely fun for a dog to play with .. squeaking and crackling .. what could be better ..
the other three ducks are just material now and unrecognizable .. but still his favs .. he takes them to bed ..

but with any toy he ends up getting all the stuffing out and with this one I have to watch him so he doesn’t get to the squeaker .. it could be very dangerous if he swallowed it ..
in the time since I took the pics and did the editing he’s removed lots of stuffing and the duck has lost its face .. I’ll have to remove the squeaker right now . !! ..

re the title .. i was thinking of Shakespeare's line 'to be or not to be, that is the question' .. i think its usually interpreted as meaning 'is it better to live or to die'? ..
well someone is dying here and its not toddy .. ;)

i hope this goes well .. i really like it ..
but i'm totally biased because of the subject .. !! .. :)

i'm not sure if you have mentioned that .. but i do forget stuff .. !! ..
and i totally understand about having a dog who doesnt like having her photo taken .. my katee who passed away in June 2019 was like your dog .. she would walk away and look away too .. i had to be a bit stealthy and take lots and lots of photos to catch her in an unguarded moment ..

times have changed and toddy has joined the family ..
and he's the total opposite .. i think he actually enjoys having his photo taken .. sometimes he actually gets a treat for sitting or begging or doing the meerkat when i take his photo ..
anyway .. thanks again ..
i felt this would go really well in the challenge ..
but when i look at it now with the eyes of the voters i see it with different eyes ..
altho i preferred the eyes i had before .. ;)

I'm guessing he is looking at the treat you are holding up out of frame and he's thinking "hurry up and click it already!" :P LOL, love me some Toddy.

That is one photogenic pooch Roz! Great shot. All the toys in my house get shredded. We have a toy graveyard!
