CRITIQUE CLUB CRITIQUE

COMPOSITION
The composition of this is wonderful. The curves of the yellow are so graceful and "flowing," and the stem of the flower leads into the shot nicely. It almost looks like the stem of the flower is pushing the glass.
TECHNIQUE
Great work. I like that the flower is primarily silhouetted. This helps to really boost the contrast of the picture, and I like the simplicity of the colors in the shot. Very nicely done.
OVERALL EFFECT
This is the kinda of "abstract" that I like. It is different enough so that it doesn't just look like any old picture, but at least part of it is identifiable. This would look good on the wall of a townhouse or modern apartment, I think. Maybe a series of them in different colors, even.

| Very nice original photograph. I really like that you used a curvy vase instead of just a strait up and down plain old vase. The curvy lines really adds to the photo. I also really like the almost silhouette look of the flower. Not quit a silhouette to the point you can actually pick out some detail on the flower. Good luck! |

Awesome shot! The abstract yellow thing works perfectly with the grey flower. I like the way which you incorporated these two subjects together (the leaning idea). Nicely done.

| I would say you need to darken this up a bit to create more of a silhoutte of the flower. Also, a lowering of the contrast might help with the spots that are showing on the vase. |
