A 5 to 6 shot - why no comments? because the comments fallinto just a few categories:
hate it. well, nothing to hate here.
love it. well, nothing to love.
Needs X. Hmmm...a pepper pic, a good one. There is nothing technically wrong, nothing particulalry compositionally wrong so there is nothing to say as in "Fix the focus" or "the ornage _____ detracts".
Hey, can't even complain about a border.
Soooo...you'd have me say: an above average pic of a pepper, but does not speak to me.

i find the majority of my 'average' shots get few comments. Shoot a sold 3 and you'll get lots of comments. I attribute this to the fact that the majority of us here are average...so if i can not envision a better pepper pic how can i tell you how to improve your rendition?

Or, I coulda said "It don't suck too much" - at least you'd ahve a comment to quote later as, well, unique!

Wow, you made it without any comments (just spoiled that didn't I)! I see we had more than our misery in common this time. I did a yellow pepper too. But you got fewer 3's than I did. I was trailing you until the end--the vote scrubber obviously gave me a bit of a boost that you didn't get.

As to your shot: good placement, good light overall. The tones in the pepper come through very rich, with a texture you wouldn't get with another technique. The reflections are a bit strong. I do like the contrast between the background and the pepper, and the blue area underneath. I think perhaps you gave this a bit too much with the flashlight. Those LEDs are pretty strong. FWIW, I gave this a 6.
