Again, just getting hate - 4 votes and 5.25. This time I thought it was a good fit for the challenge as I hate violence and sad thoughts, a broken morning is all I like.

Thanks for the comment, Fred. It explains the low votes. I did read the challenge description but I did not interpret it so literally, my fault.

Have you thought of it like that? If you do I am sure you will see my point.

Fred, the night and the darkness are broken by the light of the morning, which we are always grateful to see.

Hiya Margaret...Just read your comment in the "Photographer's Comments".
Just wanted to explain my thinking and interpretation of the description as I had 2 other members write to me explaining how they interpreted the description and so they, like you tied it to a Dawn Breaking.
I get what you and them are saying but I still think you and and a few other people misinterpreted the description of the title properly which says:
My take is as follows:

Description
Somewhere on the continuum between whole and obliterated.

Now that together with the title Break, Breaking Broken says to me that it has to be something that is in a state between whole and obliterated in other words the physical process from being not broken right through to the state of being totally broken/destroyed/obliterated. It cannot be a Dawn Breaking as nothing is broken or destroyed in the process. A dawn breaking is just a description of the sun coming up and the light of day starting to spread. Now if the challenge did not have that specified description added then yes a dawn breaking would have been a perfect way to portray the challenge theme.
Have you thought of it like that? If you do I am sure you will see my point.
Kind regards

Ohmygosh, this is breathtaking! Might be a liiiitle stretch for some people for a broken challenge, but it is getting a great score from me.

Lovely take on the challenge and an even lovelier image.

Lovely photo but to me this does not meet the challenge description as I don't think this represents somewhere on the continuum between whole and obliterated. I think you missed what the challenge is about or didn't read the challenge description.
