 Fort Vasquez located on Hwy 85 near Platteville, CO. Established in 1837 by Louis Vasquez and Andrew Sublette. Maintained as a post until 1842 for trading of buffalo robes and beaver pelts with the Arapahoe and Cheyenne Indian nations. Also for a rendezous for furtrappers. Located on the Platte River and served as a post for emigrants during the gold rush of 1859.
18-70mm DX lens at 29mm, no flash.

Great colors - the snow in the shadow really picked up a blue cast that echoes the sky nicely. The golden of the building is a great contrast to the blues. Too bad the building seems a bit tipped to one side.

Quite a look as is. It has a stark high contrast effect which is pleasing. One can argue that the shadow area is too accented on the blue side. Nevertheless, an impressive image. Bumping up.

Wonerful photo, love the colors. In my opinion it would have had much more impact with a different crop...also the wihite area at the bottom is distracting.

Great photo overall. only one thing: white patch of snow on the low right corner bothers the eye somehow, is if it was a picture defect. Perhaps if the frame was wider so the shadow lines on the wall and the snow were connected, it woudl look better?

I really like how this spanish setting is covered with snow. Tje colors really compliment the image. The only problem with this that I have is that it might be slightly weaker in the composition department. 7
