| these look like policemen falling down on the job, but falling so slowly they don't realize they're falling. so they look around officiously, fully convinced they are serving and protecting |

Is that state of mind unbalanced or dynamically balanced? You leave that up to the viewer to settle. What I settled upon is that the poles are peering downward, like three wise men. To draw away from orthodoxy, I choose to see this scene as veneration of nature, its profuse beauty. The foreground leaves shine with light. It's, for me, a difficult image to understand, but that's how it goes sometimes, and often for the better.
