 When I saw the challenge category I knew I had a perfect image for it, but what I was unsure of was how voters would react to an infrared image since they've never done particularly well for me here. So when I checked it the morning voting started and saw it at 5.25 I was by no means stunned. Where it's gone since? That's more than surprised me.

This is the Pochuck Boardwalk section of the Appalachian Trail in Sussex County, NJ. On a beautiful day cars are parked for a quarter mile in every direction and there are hikers everywhere. We got lucky on this day as we got there early.

ps .. the texture and patterns on the wood are my favourite bits ..
along with the grass and the trees and the clouds .. lol ..

this is OUT OF THIS WORLD .. !! ..
i'm absolutely loving your edit on this .. so perfect ..
makes this scene like something out of a surreal wonderland ..
and the path winding like that .. just plain awesome ..
