felt like doing a self dq on this as it went below 5 on and off for the first day or two ..
one comment said it was about the dog .. it may seem like that .. but its not just about the dog ..
its about a trail and a dog .. and a story ..
even without my title i would have thought that ppl would see the anticipation in his stance ..
he just wanted to go tearing down that trail .. it beckoned .. and i felt the trail was definitely obvious enough to see ..
i'll probably leave this in because i really like it ..
i took it specifically for the challenge ..
and i feel it totally satisfied the challenge .. :)
and when i got the photo i wanted and said ok ... he did go tearing off down that trail .. ;)

not that it really mattered but this got a vote of 1 five mins before rollover ..

*Sigh*. 1 right at rollover?

I love the STORY of this pathway. Toddy adds so much interest and sweetness to the pathway.

Figured this was yours (thought I recognised this fellow from your avatar), lovely portrait of mankind’s best companion. Yes, it’s more about the dog than about the path, but the path is still quite visible. Gave you a 7 for it.
When I entered my image of Millie running towards me I made sure the path was very much visible, because I expected it would have been voted down by some narrow-minded people.

You have a very good companion there!
It is very obvious that he is just waiting for your command. A wonderful photo! I have to admit, I'm thinking like Anita: too much emphasis on Toddy, too little on the path. But there is still no reason to give a rating worse than 5 and certainly not a 1!

PS
Thanks for your comment on the King's Road
I was really surprised when I woke up this morning and found it on the front page.
It helps that with the time shift I'm usually sleeping at rollover so I don't have to be upset with low voting at the end

Very nice, Roz. I liked it and I could see the road :) I gave you 8.

Last minute vote of 1 - nothing new, I am afraid, the nasties are still with us ;)

That right ear, how adorable! You’re probably getting dinged because it seems like the dog is the star of the show. And well it is. But this is totally cute!

I really like the pet portrait, but this challenge is about paths, and here the path is incidental.

Very cute! A natural model. I can't get mine to sit still long enough for a picture! This pup looks ready to run down that trail as soon as you give the word.

Good dog portrait, but seems to be about the dog, not about a pathway.
