I originally wanted to do something with reflections to get a subject number of 7. I was using the reflective bottom of the cds to create 7 images but had difficulty getting the exact number of reflections. I changed to simply using cds but wanted to maintain the hidden subject type of feel so I framed the shot through the hole of one of the discs. The clear plastic rim gives a quasi soft focus/out of focus effect which helps provide depth. The colors were also arranged to give depth such as black in the background and red and orange in the foreground.

I could have done a couple of things better such as showing the 'c' from colorful, getting the center hole on the yellow disc to show more, eliminating the white window reflection on the red cd, making the cd hole framing more evident, and getting a more of the middle indigo cd infocus. I had exposures that had some but not all of those elements in different combinations but I had taken enough shots by then and simply chose the best one.

well this shot didn't score so hot. Despite that I'm amused that the missing subject went right over some people.

Great composition, colors and effects, but where is 7? The 700mb...7x10 maybe. Good luck on this cd rainbow,

Wow! I almost passed over this because the thumbnail doesn't do it justice. Very colorful and sharply focused.

Oooo. Took me a while. Are people missing the CD you're shooting through? It's a neat concept. Lighting is maybe a bit bright, but otherwise...nice job on an original idea.

Ahhh! Finally! A fresh composition with CDs/DVDs - extra point for that. Light, focus (with blur effects) and colours are top notch! Great job!

I am assuming that i am looking through the 7th disc. And if that is the case, great idea and good execution.
