Overall, this is a decent shot but I'm not sure it demonstrates wind as effectively as it could. The one candle that is not lit isn't showing smouldering, and the flames on the others are not bent in a direction to suggest wind is blowing. I do like the composition. |

Beyond a doubt, candlelight somehow always invokes low tech to me. The halos around the flame are nice and soft, the smoke wispy, but not natural enough. It appears at one point the smoke is going naturally to the high and on the candle right next to it, somewhat sideways, whereas the unlit candle's smoke seems to be going in the opposite direction and is obviously 'been blown out' It seems hard to evaluate the framing of the subject, and then I see the imbalance of three 'top' candles versus the two 'bottom' candles one of which, now unlit adds even more imbalance to the whole. The focus and DOF in this low light shot is very good, but the smoke at the base of the candle in the center makes a blurring feature that should be removed. I feel distracted by the elements in this shot which has a strong negative impact on the whole. |

I think the blur around the light takes away from this, I think thats what you were going for but, it just dosent work. |

You need some more light in the pic -the flames are very overexposed and hte candle sticks are too dark. the red canndle in particular is noisy / grainy. |

This is an interesting idea, although the angle here does not work well for this photo. It seems to confuse the image. Also, the halo effect around the flames is distraction. |
