| Very nice, soft-lighted still life of the nuts. The placement of the nuts in front of the cracker seems a bit contrived. Also, it doesn't make a lot of sense that the bucket is full of unshelled nuts. Isn't the purpose of the bucket to catch the crushed shells? Your positioning of the subject in the frame needs a little attention: if this were shot vertically, I think you could've gotten all of the nutcracker and the nuts in the shot without cutting the nuts off (ouch). Overall, though the problems with the image are fairly petty. 7. |

| Cool instrument and I love the warm tones. You may not have noticed but there's some stray light on your background on the right edge and at the top right of the nut cracker. Looks like bottom left too but less so on my monitor. Compositionally, this misses for me; I think it might have worked better either in portrait format, or back a step, with the nuts in the foreground not "clipped", and perhaps on the left third line. Or maybe a more diagonal layout of the extra nuts--walking down the diagonal from one sweet spot to another. |

| mmmmm...... nuts. nice lighting. I know that as a rule of thumb a photo usually looks better when the subject is off center, but in this case i think a centered subject may be best. but, then again, what do i know? just my opinion. |

I think the nuts on the table look too organised - perhaps it would look better if they were scattered about. Nice woody/nutty tones, but background shadow is uneven.

| Stunning colors. Great idea. The the nuts moving off the botton of the frame and the angle of the picture make it seem as though the image is tipping forward. I would change one of those two ekements. Alone they work; in tandem, they unbalance this image. |
