 t expecting a great score but maybe I’ll get some reaction, I like the image.

Shooting the skaters was a challenge and made me use my camera differently. I had to switch to shutter priority to freeze action and deal with the under exposure in post. Shutter priority is something I rarely if ever use in my normal routine so it was good to venture off the beaten trail. My camera was not great with high iso noise when it came out and now 10 or so years on it definitely does not compete with other offerings but it's what I've got and it works.

For this image one of the first I shot I had not switched to shutter priority and got some blur, turns out it was my favorite of the bunch.

well done. image grain is actually an essential part of this image and not just added on or incidental, like the images above it.

Oh wow, I thought I'd be waking to see a ribbon on this skater and even more surprised not to see it even in the top 10. I think the movement is exquisite and the blur is perfect.

If she was in a triple axle or maybe lutz this would have been a 10 from me.
