I love this.
Perhaps a bit of a tickle to T.S. Eliot's black and white Catholic moralism. or the shadows that haunted him. or the shadow between the motion and the act.
What more could you want from a photo? the hero just arrived on his steed. the door waiting. the approach to the door, going from one world to another. and the one I love on a personal level, plenty of places to sit.
I'm hanging this in my fantasy gallery

While the beer might make me think of summer time fun, nothing is really saying winter for me in this. Also the really bright spot on the door in front of the man is pulling my eye away from being able to look at the whole scene. |

This truncated B&W geometry has the rhythm of a poem and I had to search:
"You had such a vision of the street
As the street hardly understands"
although it might be from another one |
