Out for a Sunday drive (Literally) and saw these wagon wheels on the side of the road... Remembered the low tech challenge so I snapped a couple of shots..

Taken using the 50mm F/1.8.

Post editing in the gimp, just crop, desat, scale and a little curves.

As it happens, my first entry with the 20D.

Good idea and good representation in B&W. The composition is really good, though I think it would be nice to have more of the outer wheel showing at top and on the right, and perhaps less of the center hub.

Excellent! Great subject, great focus, great artistic choice to use B&W, great use of depth of field to make focal point pop. Overall, a very strong image.

Good b/w with decent texture. This would have made a deeper impression if the cropping corner would begin right between the two bolts. This would leave a very attractive star-like effect. 6

Nice composition, I think a sepia would have been better :)
