This is shot thru a micro-filter with VERY fine perforations that fits inside our glass teapot. The BG is the kitchen sink, the yellow is a Scrub Daddy sponge :-)
The filter was just butted up to the Samsung Phone's back panel, centered over the lens opening. The lens is a fixed-aperture f/1.7 :-)

The title reference is the great poem by Wallace Stevens, though Jacques Tati seems apt now that Mariuca has mentioned it :-)

Like a dull scholar, I behold, in love,
An ancient aspect touching a new mind.
It comes, it blooms, it bears its fruit and dies.
This trivial trope reveals a way of truth.
Our bloom is gone. We are the fruit thereof.
Two golden gourds distended on our vines,
Into the autumn weather, splashed with frost,
Distorted by hale fatness, turned grotesque.
We hang like warty squashes, streaked and rayed,
The laughing sky will see the two of us
Washed into rinds by rotting winter rains. |

Your bright mind took me into a splendid direction away from my own musing.
I adore how you reference some of your shots to poems from where they really erupt.
I love also the obsession with the fabric of things that you show again and again.

| WOW .. !! .. this is extraordinary ... will look forward to seeing the camera settings when this rolls over .. wont be hard to find .. definitely in the top 5 .. if not getting the blue ... havent seen all the photos in the challenge but this will be difficult to beat . :) |
