 Thank you for the votes and comments. I was amazed as the score approached 7 and then continued to rise. After 36 votes the score reached 8.0000 before slipping back to it’s final value.

There is a footpath that goes under the bridge. It’s easily accessible. I parked in Beach Road which is about a five minute walk from the bridge.

It’s worth checking the tide times before setting off. I went twice to get this shot. On the first occasion high tide was at about 2:10pm and about 10 metres high. The weather was grey and overcast. A few days later I noticed that high tide was higher at 13 metres and later in the evening at 7:40pm. A clear sunny evening was a bonus.

Of COURSE this won! Maybe never has there been a more beautiful bridge photo! And look at that score! If the 2 people who gave it a ridiculous “average score of 5, had done the favor of not voting, it surely would have given this its well-deserved 8 score. Congratulations on many levels!

This is simply stunning! I drove over this bridge yesterday on my way back from Ireland. I would be keen to know where to park to be able to take photos of this bridge from this angle.

Congrats on the blue and new PB. Sorry I didn't comment during voting but it was one of those rare photos that makes one actually go wow! I even had to get my husband to come and take a look. 10 from me and I agree with Anita - it was always going to win.

You've caught the beauty of this splendid architecture, the crossing between light and dark, thus deftly probing the metaphor of a bridge. Your long exposure makes the magic. Lovely understated palette. Pleasing composition.

I was blown away when I first viewed this. It̢۪s truly sensational, the colours, the sharpness of the bridge yet softness of the water and sky. Was this all done in post production or mostly in camera? Would love to know. Anyway 10̢۪s are rarely given out by me these days but this surely deserves one, and a fave.

Surely this is the blue.
