One rainy morning this poor bird flew into our window . . . hard! It literally knocked itself out and landed on the yew hedge. We watched for some minutes, finally daring to hope when we saw its eye flicker. Finally it dropped to a lower branch. By this time I had my camera. It sat in there dazed for quite some time, little by little sitting up and apparently getting its bearings, before it finally hopped to the ground and disappeared in the underbrush.

Looks like a juvenile European Robin - not that you have them in the States! Nothing like our British sparrows, which are members of the finch family. Poor little thing - hope it was ultimately ok.

Cool capture! It seems like a little more breathing space on the right and above would be nice. It just seems cropped a bit tight. But what a wonderful find!
