No way. lol Bumping up to 6. Now, you never wabt to show red eye in a comtetion especially when you have such a nice image. I did not see it. lol

the red-eyed devil posing as an authority figure holding a construction ruler... hmmm... she must be a constractor's assistant. very interesting.

concept: good
composition: eh. everything is tilted left.
lighting: bad! blurry, faded, subject has red-eye.
sorry.

Potentially a good shot but the photo looks kinda foggy...and the red eyes ruin it.
11/28/2004 03:56:27 PM
I would have choppe a bit out of the bottom to get rid of the thing at the bottom, and the red eye is a bit obviuos.

But its a cool idea, and nice take on the contest.

The lighting in this picture isn't very good. The model also has some red eye. I think she may be screaming "Listen to me!" because nobody can see her.
11/26/2004 03:58:21 PM
Good subject and idea. Not such a great photo technically. Greater contrast would help. A bit of work with levels would, too. A bit closer or a different crop to get rid of the desk (?) at the bottom. Stronger focus.
11/26/2004 08:52:00 AM
Soft focus/Red Eye
11/25/2004 06:29:43 PM
picture is cloudy, red eye, something at the bottom. good idea though
11/25/2004 07:32:27 AM
Interestig udea, but she's at an angle and there's some sort of haze. I'd have cropped out the top and bottom objects as well. You can avoid red eye by shooting at an angle.
11/25/2004 06:48:29 AM
good idea, but low quality pic - looks ,like something from an OLD digital camera. Not well lit, not sharp, noisy. Could use a bit of cropping on th ebottom to remove the white thing (distracting). Model has redeye too.

This image looks staight out of a low-budget S&M porno. Your subject looks a little frightened if you ask me. Angle, framing, and stark use of muted colors enhance the severity of the image. Daring and edgy. If my interpretation is correct, the undertones were intended.
11/24/2004 05:23:43 PM
Good example. I am dying to push the contrast.
11/24/2004 05:09:57 PM
Contrast and lighting are kind of poor
11/24/2004 01:55:00 PM
Good idea, but the image overall is washed out and without any "edge". Some assertiveness, or edginess would be great for this subject as it's really set the view back on his/r chair. Good luck...
11/24/2004 09:40:04 AM
Could have worked, but -- red eye from flash, bad contrast, bad focus. Sorry
11/24/2004 09:10:07 AM
The most glaring problem is the exposure. Because you upped thebrightness so much without increasing contrast, it just feels washed out. The angle is another problem, as well as red-eye.
11/24/2004 08:43:22 AM
You should have used a blackbord as background. But she does look severe. I know some people that would like to get a good beating ;)
11/24/2004 08:02:54 AM
if only it was better lit... and she was dressed, um, a little better....
11/24/2004 08:01:55 AM
The red eye in the photo makes it look a little snapshot like.
11/24/2004 06:24:25 AM
Good idea, very poorly shot. Flash has caused red-eye, the image is washed out, the subject should be pulled off the background and more care should be taken for extraneous bjects in the shot (whatever that is in the lower right). This is just a snapshot.
11/24/2004 05:29:57 AM
very wrong depth of feild, look like taken with camera phone...
11/23/2004 11:55:58 PM
I can't rate this high as it seems too stage and quite poorly shot. The girl still has red eye...
11/23/2004 09:43:58 PM
i can appreciate the take on the challenge, but the quality of the image is too low to justify scoring it high.
11/23/2004 09:17:53 PM
The red eye ruins the photo. Also, you'll need to adjust the levels so the colors aren't washed out. Try an external flash, or another source of light coming from another direction.

Great subject but no contrast and she has red eye
11/23/2004 08:27:26 PM
Model is appropriate. There are several factors which make this photograph unacceptable.

- Contrast. Lack thereof. This shot could have used a nice boost in contrast.
- Framing. Could have cropped off the distracting white at the lower right corner and upper right corner, and the female could have been shot in front of a more interesting backdrop. A slight rotation clockwise could have improved this.
- Red eye. Under the basic editing rules, this is problematic. I think instead of shooting her face on, a different angle would have been more compelling and eliminated the red eye, to boot.
- Detail. Focus is soft and the resolving capability of the camera is rather dismal. Perhaps a tighter shot would have brough out more details which was lost with this particular composition.

Given these considerations I can't rate this very highly, sorry.

Good concept. However, the photo is very dark & flat - could use more contrast and light.
Also, the radiator (?) and red eye could use some editing.
11/23/2004 07:06:34 PM
Oh, could be such a nice photo, but the quality is just nonexistent...
