Get off your rear end and take pictures.

Our weather has been yucky the past few days. Rain, cold, and a fair amount of wind, so I'm going through some of the pictures I took on our trim to Mission La Purisima over Christmas.

This isn't the best picture I've ever taken, but I liked the position of the people (one of my sons and two of my grandchildren) so I freely admit to some bias. The building showing in the window is whitewashed and completely blown out. I tried to fix it by applying a texture to the window area only to tone things down.

I really like that flop of hair on the older grandchild.

Very thought provoking.. makes you want to inquire further into the image.. maybe do a little exploring.

i've been reading 'man's search for meaning' by victore frankl .. it details his experiences in the concentration camps in the war .. i dont know exactly why but seeing this image brought the book into my mind .. the child on the left .. looking dejected .. the man talking to the children .. it makes me think in hushed tones .. he could almost be talking of his grandfather or great grandfathers experiences in the camps .. revealing the tragedies of life .. and what can come out of those tragedies ..
your treatment of the photo with the blurry indistinct shapes .. the black and white .. and the light coming in the window .. this is a powerful and emotive image .. who cares if the reality of the situation was completely different .. :)

All sorts of story poosibilities here. Including some sinister ones. It's a great photo and you dealt with the window problem perfectly.

I'd say: stay inside and take pictures! This is a wonderful image with a great story

PS. Call it something else. "Conference" is too formal for such a soulful image

I like John's comment. It also speaks to the divisions in our country today. Whispered conversations in the shadows. You window treatment is very believable.

This is strange in a good way, ghosts huddling together, the father telling the sons all will be well.
