The vertical wood and ax are fine as a focus, but what I really like is the background stack of firewood. Interestingly, this realistic quasi-pattern functions as a sort of bokeh. It flies in the face of our usual expectations, but there you have it. I find this development, at least in my limited experience, exciting, opening up novel possibilities. Wood tones are naturally harmonious, as is expressed here. Thank you. |

Nice photo. I love the textures and colours of wood. This (almost) makes me nostalgic for our old wood heater, but then I didn't chop the wood. I guess you have a variation on the 'knock off work to carry bricks' saying. |

Love woodpiles myself and stopped at one the other day but found nothing of interest. Sure wish there had been an ax! |

You mean you have to chop your own firewood on holiday? Nice find and the composition lends itself nicely to a square crop. |
