Bust of Sophie? With the light hitting her fur in the lower left corner that's what I see. |

A shadow with a shiney nose overseeing her domain. |

One's dog is a deep presence, and Sophie out of focus is certainly not diminished as such. As a matter of fact, it may distill the intensity. As for the background, more than half in focus, it's a very nice pattern of diagonal stripes. Kind of like the field of a flag, with Sophie as the central emblem. |

This dog's profile is becoming as recognisable as Alfred Hitchcock's. The photograph works very well, is actually quite elegant, with the shadow rays fanning down and across, and dog interrupting. Thank you. |

...omg, I have a cat named Sophie, my last remaining cat. She also has a long coat. My Sophie is a bit of a neurotic demanding sort, but also one of the funniest cats I've ever been around. She reminds me of Phyllis Diller. |

We can't all be wrong (well, maybe) but from the thumb I saw a shadow as well. I wonder what Sophie is looking at? |

Barbara said almost a silhouette, I thought almost a shadow. She poses a good question. |

Ha, there is that fluffy dog again...this time almost a silhoutte. But to you the ground and the grass seems to be more important and I wonder why |

Sophie reminds me of one of Thurber's dogs. Good Girl! |
