Beautiful isolation, like an island, enhanced by the square crop. Nice!

Childhood squared. I never outgrew the sparkles though...never.

This is lovely! The sparkles bring to life the magic of childhood. We see her shadow, she sees something far more intriguing.

All the best things about the magic of photographs are present in this one.
Was it Gary Winogrand who said he took photographs to find out how things looked photographed?
He had a very good point about the magical difference between a photograph and reality. It's all on show here. Thank you.

Superb title, Mariuca - children are so long fascinated by shadows, especially their own but others, too.

Most perceptive Rich! Yes, it's the High Line but the girl really tried to have an answer form her shadow

tell me about your adventures little waterdrops, or a fairytale about your shiny glittering water princess...

Despite the dark upper section this appears to me to be high key. The young girl in her light-colored outfit examines her shadow, or maybe the sparkling ground about her, lost in the moment. The sense of serenity is apparent. I like how the pebbled ground catches the sunlight, bringing a sense of enchantment to the image. By any chance is this taken on the High Line in Manhattan? There's a section of shallow running water along the way .
My first impression, having run track in school, is that of a sprinter getting into her blocks at the start of a race.
