(1) COMPOSITION (CONTENT) WOW, at first glance, this is a photo that really grabs my attention. Your use is red is perfect, and the diagonal leading lines is a very powerful image maker. Then there is that face..... strange, weird, unreal, scarey.
(2) BACKGROUND The red background is maybe the very best thing about this photograph. It would not have done nearly so well with a different color.
(3) CAMERA WORK ,TECHNICAL The DOF is very good, all of the important parts are in sharp focus. Your composition is very good as well. I love the lighting you have used, there are a few harsh shadows, but those add to the overall feeling here.
(4) DIGITAL PROCESSING ,TECHNICAL Your post processing is good. Saturation is good. Colors are vibrant and bright. I have read some of the comments about grain, and when I look closely I do see that. It does not distract from the overall feeling of the picture though. Its sort of like one of those old black and whiter movies.... the grain just adds to the feeling of strangeness.
(5)MEETING THE CHALLENGE This photograph does a very good job of meeting the challenge.
(6) MY OPINION ON THE PHOTO The subject here is an everyday object, photographed in a new original way. I like this very much |

Sorry about the grain everyone...I don't see it at all. Geeeeeeee....I don't know what to do. I've calibrated my monitor. Thanks for all the comments. Much appreciated! I'd never know about the graininess if not for you all. |

Very grainy, but beautiful in its own way. I love the colours. I can see it's a cheese grater, but that looks like a face or a mask at the top. I can't stop seeing it that way. I like it. |

deep within the cheese grater?! yikes! and all this time I was afraid of what might be under the bed!! :0) LOL
Okay...
interesting concept..the dark areas are a bit noisy. neat colors..
Edit: My daughter's comments (9 yrs. old): Awesome! I like the red. It is my favorite color. It makes me feel like someone is staring at me. Good job. |

I like the red coloration with the grater, nice combo. The white light seems to take away more than I see it adding (was it needed to create enough light to make the shot?) The cheese slicing side of the grater seems incongruous with the other three sides, could it have been placed at the top right, instead of the bottom left (to lessen it's impact)? The mask seems somewhat grainy. 7 Swash |

I never would have thought to shoot the inside of a grater. Neat perspective. |

I'm going to start looking in my cheese grater before I use it!! Nice angles and color. I like the angle as well. The shot seems a bit grainy. Nice job. |

prize for the best use of a cheese grater here. Weird and effective, although the one white/ hotspot lets this down - and it is bang in a focal point, at the chin of the mask - where all the lines lead to. high marks for originality |
