 Cave Creek once flowed over a waterfall in front of the present stone bridge. As time passed, water gouged out a cavern in the softer rock behind the waterfall, while a pothole formed in the creek above. Finally, after thousands of years, the water broke through the roof of the cavern.

Cave Creek now plunges through that hole into the cavern below. One of Australia’s largest glow-worm colonies lives beside the track and on the roof of this cave.

All I did was sharpened it up a bit, that's about all. New to digital photography and no photoshop expert so don't really know how to do much else.

awesome work, i like how it is framed in darkness. adds to the dreamlike appeal.

I think the photo would have a better effect with less black edges, for me personally too dark, but I love the idea and composition

Thanks for all your comments, they were very useful.

If you read my description above you will see why I believed it fitted the theme of 'Time Passing' very well.

I included the swimmer because I thought it added a human element to the image and I liked the little splash of colour on her costume against the dark colours of the background.

I did take some pictures with a slow shutter to get the familiar 'waterfall' blurry look but I thought they looked a little clichéd.

The response has encouraged me and I plan to enter more challenges in the future and see if I can improve my rating.

Nice photo, although the swimmer distracts from the theme.

This photo has a good amount of negative space which adds to dramatic flair. I'm not certain that the swimmer adds much to the shot. Did you try stopping down and lengthening the exposure? That particular technique may have served well in this circumstance.

Lastly, there is not an obvious connection to the challenge theme that I can ascertain, and perhaps it is the swimmer 'passing time' leisurely that you are attempting to convey here. It's not that obvious to me.
