I like this image. She's beautiful, and the composition is very good. But, I think the lighting is a problem. With more even and softer lighting this would be awesome. I'd like to see more shots of this model from you. Also, I think a slightly lower camera angle, more on level with her nose or so, might improve it a little too. Also, if you submit a slightly larger version of your image, it would be nice. This one is about 468 pixels wide; you can use up to 640 pixels. Nice work, keep it up!

returning for comments:
A very effective shot with hair sweeping the left eye. Lovely/ I placed this at 6.

I really like the hair on the face, I just am distracted by the eye. I saved and cropped the image so that the tip of the upper lip is at the leftmost edge of the shot, and for me, that is stronger. But you know what? I never do well on this site, so don't listen to me...I need sleep. 6.

that light is awfully bright on her face- some more careful planning, a better pose and a better job of putting her on a plain background (to avoid whatever's in the upper left) might've made this stronger.

Very much a simple snapshot. Will not do well in a contest. Next time, spend a little more time composing your subject.

The easiest way to do a good portrait is to make sure that you capture the eyes really well and when you don´t go that way you really need to make up for it by some other means and I am afraid you do not do that here. This just looks like a bad snapshot so I can´t really give it anything but a 2 but keep it up, practice makes perfect.

Not to much of a portrait. I do like the contrast

dislike how brightly lit the face is, the angle as well. Perhaps if the model was looking slightly more towards the camera, it would stand out better to me. That's just a personal preference though. -5-

The upper left corner and earring are distracting, but I otherwise like the picture. The softness and grain work here.
