Wracked my brain for a few days trying to figure out something blue that was a little bit different and had some eye candy look.
When I was a kid I worked with my Dad doing plumbing and the blue flame of the soldering torch somehow popped into my head. I still have a torch set up, a vice which is conveniently blue and some copper pipe.
I set up in my workshop, first shooing with the lights on with the pipe sticking straight out, the picture lacked any drama or pop. I moved the pipe to have the elbow facing up instead of across the picture. Still lacked pop.
I turned off the lights and started painting the elbow with the blue flame now I think I'm on to something, got some orange sparks early on and used some sawdust to make sure they came back in other images.
In post slight exposure adjust, added a blue filter to push the image more to the blue but most of this is naturally occurring, topaz adjust to boost the colors. USM save as a jpeg and post.
Have to admit I'm curious how DPL will impact voting averages. I'm not on a team because I didn't think I could commit to taking photos throughout the league time but want to see how this plays out. The increased number of entries is great to see.
